In all probability this has appeared in an earlier post, but here we go: www.slushfactory.com/anime/features/nyaff/panel.shtml

I love one of the lines in this. "...there's a very deep meaning to all the placement of the mecha, but I forgot it all". I can identify with this. Instants seem profound but you forget it all eventually.

WELL I LOVE THIS:From --"The New York Anime Film Festival Creator's Panel"
(To Peter Chung) Will you work on an Aeon Flux film?
Chung: I would like to, but not under the circumstances that I did the first time around…MTV Films, which is a division of Paramount Pictures, has been developing Aeon Flux as a live-action film for the last five years. It started off and stalled…I really don't know where it is right now; they've gone through several attempts at coming up with a script. They've never asked me to submit a script. So, until they offer me some money to write a script I'm probably not going to be involved that much except as a consultant. But I've become so frustrated with the process of waiting for them to get this project going." (SO ARE WE!!!) AND I ALSO LOVE THIS:
"Chung: I like Sailor Moon better than Scooby-Doo [laughter]. I think there may be a waning of interest, but then I think that fads will come back when people get tired of the trends of that moment; who knows?

What a strange truism (the one about fads), I'll have to ponder that for a while. Ya know, I saw Chung do one of these panel discussions. The man has a way of sneaking up on you; you think "hmm that's interesting", & only later does the full weight of what he said register. Of course, he'll probably deny all this ;)Cooool link by the way Frostbite. How's college?

I think I was looking for an Utena page. I'm on this odd personal quest to find a review of the Utena movie that shows at least some glimmer of understanding. (This board doesn't count.)This time last year I was doofy enough to think I wanted to go to a liberal arts college. Next year I'm tranfering to Georgia Tech. And since I'll only know how to program in Visual Basic, I'll be the laughingstock of the whole school. Hooray!
You know, I'd LIKE to be an animator, but the whole "not having any drawing or writing talent" thing might be somewhat of a detriment.

no, not at all. you only need a tiny bit of skill, lots of persistance. no! really, even though it is an extremely tired cliche, it is true.

Animation is in the eyes of the ratings. I see Simpson's is number one on Wizard magazines list of top ten animated shows. Aeon hit number 66, (as per my bud Seraftrev, who is quite knowledgeable in these matters...) My take: Aeon vs Bart, Bart Bites dust. Thanks, btw for saying 'this board doesn't count', that's quite a compliment.
