Folks! I was gently reminded by Him tonite that we, in all our own concern, have forgotten out children. They have great stress and need to know answers to questions about todays' problems and coming times. It's our responsibility to inform them not to fear the future. Christ holds the future and if we are His--no need to fear. If they are not Christians then it's our duty to lead them to Jesus Christ. He's the ONLY way to the Father. I'm sure we are in for some problems but the world won't end. They need to be reassured of that fact and also that He loves them very much. Please take a few moments and think on theses things---talk'm over with Him first if you like---then talk to your kids. Fear is of the devil and the lyin scumbag is tryin every way to deceive our kids and steal their souls from them. "Greater is He thats in me than he that's in the world"! satan came to kill, steal and destroy. The Truth is not in him-he walks the earth like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Jesus came to give life and give it more abundantly.

"I go to prepare a place for you. If it were not so I would have told you. If I go, I will return and receive you unto myself that where I am there you will be also. Comfort each other with theses words"! [May not be exactly verbetum but it's close enough----.]

Thank you, and you are so right about this. Day before yesterday my 3 yr old(Ethan) climbed up on my lap and said,"mommy, where are you going to bury me?" He has been sick and I've been really worried about him so the question just turned me inside out. I told him not to be afraid, that he would probably live to be an old man and that then he would go to Heaven. He said"mommy, will you go with me?" It made me realize that I'm not exactly where I need to be. Came to find out he has been hearing just about everything they have said on TV this week and was afraid a plane or a bomb was going to hit our house and kill him. The point I want to make is to listen to what your kids are really saying to you. What sounds like one thing may really mean something else! Here I was worrying about him being so sick that I just assumed he was worried about the same thing. He wasn't worried about being sick, just about having a bomb dropped on him!! My youngest daughter (age 21, mentally handicapped, about on par with a three-year-old) often talks about God, about Jesus coming back, and so on. She also often asks if she is saved, and I always try to take her questions seriously and answer clearly (she repeats things over and over, so it's easy to get impatient with her sometimes). Well, Sunday afternoon she asked that about salvation again, and somehow it seemed more urgent this time. We haven't had a TV on (don't have one) but I know she has been hearing things, and she's very sensitive to moods around her. I asked her if she believed that Jesus Christ is God's Son, and she said yes, and I asked her if she believed that Jesus died on the cross to pay for her sins, and she said yes, both times very seriously. So I told her that if she believes that, then, yes, she is saved, and she seemed to be relieved. Me, too. I've been looking around me and thinking, what do I need to do before Jesus comes to take me home. Not that the thought hasn't always been there, but it sure seems more urgent now than ever before. There isn't much time left, I think.

Thank you Hoot and the rest of you for posting this. My son is only three years old and I thank God that I don't have to explain the terrorist actions to him; I'm not sure I have the words. I will make sure that my son know he is loved by his parents and God and should rest easy that all will be well in time, no matter what our future holds for us concerning our immediate times. I do have a nine year old nephew and will make sure that he is okay too. Thanks again.

Kathleen, my 28 yr old son is also retarded. He speaks to/and about God on a daily basis. When all of the stuff was on the tv he came in the room where I was and said "mama, dont worry, God will save us". I figure in his sweet mind uncluttered with worldly junk he knows the truth better than I do sometimes. The only thing he keeps saying that cracks us up is that the enemy is Alladin. Hoot, I appreciate you thinkin about the young'uns. I picked up some papers from a church bench Lords day morning and found where the least'un had drawn a before and after picture of the towers. Yesterday, as we were walking through Walmart, the children noticed they were playing "Stars and Stripe Forever" on the com. Little daughter child(5) commented that it reminded her of buildings falling down :(
