Topping for Anne.

Here is a link to the on line Catechism that Frank put up in case you wanted to read over the holiday, and didn't have access to one.

Hi, David.

Unfortunately, the "christusrex" Catechism site that is linked above has a very general table of contents with no paragraph numbers. Also, the formerly great search engine accessed from the bottom of the page no longer works in Netscape and Internet Explorer.

Thanks for topping this thread, though. It gives me the opportunity to share some links that I have been accumulating for a while.

Other Catechism site options:

========== St. Charles Borromeo site has great detailed table of contents -- plus a simple search engine at top.
========== SCB's CCC index page.

========== Knights of Columbus have versatile search engine (by word/phrase/paragraph-number), plus link to unnumbered table of contents.

========== Vatican page has links to Catechism in English, French, German, Italian, Latin, and Spanish.

========== U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' site. Table of contents has no paragraph numbers, but related material is present. Search at top pertains to entire USCCB site, not just Catechism.

========== Ca tholic Information Network has detailed, unnumbered T-of-C.

God bless you.

Just an addendum to John's links...

If you use the following Vatican link you will go to a page which gives access to The Code of Canon Law, The Bible, and 11 Vatican Council Documents, as well as the Catechism.

http://www.vatican.va/archive/index.htm

The following link is another Vatican page which gives you the General Directory for Catechesis, which should be used alongside the Catechism.

http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cclergy/documents/rc_ con_ccatheduc_doc_17041998_directory-for-catechesis_en.html

God bless

(and Happy New Year to all!)

Happy New Year, Sara.

Here is the latter site via hyperlink. Caution: over 450K -- slow to download.

Here is a site that lists the many small modifications made to the original text (1992) of the Catechism for its final, official version of 1997. This can be helpful to a person who has an old, printed English (1995) edition and is not planning to get the second edition soon.

God bless you.

Here are a few suggestions for making links to the CCC, if you prefer not to copy-and-paste actual text ...

(1) If you want to send someone to a specific single paragraph number, use this as your template:
http://www.scborromeo.org/ccc/para/N.htm ---- where the "N" is a 1-to-4-digit paragraph number from 1 to 2865.
Example: http://www.scborromeo.org/ccc/para/2218.htm
[Notice the first link at the bottom of the page, allowing the reader to get the context by entering the CCC.]

(2) If you want someone to look at several paragraphs, you can give him the paragraph numbers and make a link to the following page, which has 2865 links!!! ... http://www.scborromeo.org/c cc/para/

(3) If you want to send someone to a part, section, or chapter of the CCC, first go to the following page to find that section and get a URL to it (by clicking on the title at right, not on the paragraph numbers at left): http://www.scborromeo.org/ccc/ccc_toc2.htm

God bless you.
