Morning, sweet MATH. How were weekends?I wish Al could check in! I think about Bill Lowe all night.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
Me too. I was just going to ask if you'd heard from her.My weekend was nice, actually. It's completely fall here. Coooold.
Then this morning I get an email from the Naval Academy boy who I haven't heard from in over two years. I hope he's not calling to tell me he's got some deadly illness or something. Or that he's leaving for Afghanistan and just wanted to touch base with every girl he'd ever slept with or something.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
If I was dreaming about Bill Lowe all night, I don't think I'd tell Al, because that would be sort of weird. The weather is beautiful here. Joh, that is odd, odd, odd that he called.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
Oh, T! You don't know because you probably haven't checked your hotmail. Bill had open heart surgery yesterday.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
I no say I dream about Bill! I say I think. It looks rainy outside, but I love the way it feels.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
Oh my god! I had no idea! You're right - I rarely check the hotmail.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
I just checked my Hotmail - of course, it crashed my computer, but that's Hotmail for you.AB, do you know where he is? I'd imagine he's at UAB Medical Center, because I think that's where you'd want to be for somehting that major.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
I know as much as y'all do--Al said she'd call when she got a minute, but I imagine she probably hasn't had one yet. How many hospitals are in B'ham?
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
There are several, but UAB is THE place. For cancer, at least, it's the M.D. Anderson of the southeast, and I imagine its reputation for cardiac care is equally stellar.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
Is there anyway we could find out for sure?Do y'all think the MOC is back at work today?
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
I think the MOC is probably still in B'ham.I guess we could call hospitals and inquire as to Bill Lowe's whereabouts. I don't have Al's parents' house.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
Where MATH go? I miss MATH!MATH, come back!
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
Hey.
I'm only here for a sec. He's in Brookwood Hospital which is in the Hoover/ Vestavia area.
He's doing good. I just saw him. He's still on the vent and he's real mad about that, but he's totally lucid when he's awake. He's writing notes and stuff.
I'm ok. The MOC is still here - going back tonight. He's been a rock of cheese through it all. I am so glad he's been here.
He's coming back tonight, T, so I'll tell him to call you. He should leave here around 4 or 5.
We're pretty hopeful they'll take Bill Lowe off the vent sometime today and he'll get stepped down tomorrow and then into a private room in a few days.
AB, I'll try to call later. We can only go in for 20 minutes at a time and the rest of the time, I'm trying not stay calm and keep JoLo from acting crazy. Also, I haven't eaten anything but cookies in two days and I haven't slept, so I'm pretty much a nutbird.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
Al - I'm glad your dad is doing well. Take care of yourself too! And don't forget if you need anything MATH here.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
Eat, Al.If I knew the number here, I'd give it to you, but call my cell phone instead.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
Al, PLEASE have the MOC call, or I'll call him. I'm very glad your dad is lucid, as frustrating as it must be for him to be on the vent.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
I had a glass and a half of wine with my lunch and I am sleeeeeeeepy.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
Well I should say so!Did y'all have good weekends?
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
We did, except for the sad and tragic loss of the Galaxy Girls on Saturday afternoon. But Matt and Cher and Master V and I hung out Saturday night, and then I accidentally got high and it wasn't my fault and Cher and I watched TV and fell asleep and Vince and Matt played sweet, sweet music until 4 in the morning.
You?
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
AB - do you still have anbei@hashai.com? Do you think that's still too tied to your real name as well?I just skimmed Friday's thread.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
It was a busy weekend - we were in Commerce, Georgia all day Saturday. Chris still has a terrible cough, so we just took it eas on Sunday. I made vegetable lasagna last night.I'm kind of pissed - I'm doing the more expensive POS insurance plan at work, and even with the one where I pay (the HMO is 100% covered), NONE of my doctors are on the list. Not my internal medicine person, not my dermatologist, not my gyno, not my pelvic surgeon - not even Emory freaking University Hospital. What kind of health plan doesn't include Emory hospital???
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
Joh - I saw the Abercrombie campus thing in the NYT magazine yesterday - what was with the dude in the red muscle shirt? Employee, or model? And a muscle shirt? On a dude? Really - is the workplace an appropriate forum for pit hair? ; )
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
Yeah, I still have it. I was just worried that if somebody searched annachao.com or something like that, it would go to +1, and then there's hashai.com all over it. It still works, though. And why does everyone think I renamed my journal? Because I didn't.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
I think a lot of people assume that a journal name is the same as the domain name, like Hate Your Daddy.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
Which makes no sense, because most journal names are different from their domain names. IE, Bermanation.com/Triumph & Disaster. Pamie.com/squishy, hannahbeth.com/Journey of a Girl.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
AB - cause they're all stupid, see.T - is that the same article that I sent you? I have no idea what photo you're talkign about.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
Oh, what a shocker, Beth's on hiatus again.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
Again again, or the hiatus from before? I think she did that a couple weeks ago--for a while, xeney.com was redirecting to the forum.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
Oh, did you see the thing on the community weblog about Rush Limbaugh going deaf? Weird.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
Yeah, she'd been linking straight to her forum, but today was the first time I checked when her main page was up.No, I didn't read the thing about Rush. What did it say?
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
Oh yeah - I saw the Rush thing on Drudge - he's totally deaf, and it happened in a flash. Scary.Beth Schmef.
Joh - the article ran in yesterday's Style supplement to the NYT Magazine - the copy was accompanied by pictures of the Abercrombie- looking dude in a red muscle shirt working with his laptop all around the campus.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
Send it to me. I have no idea who it could be. Was he young looking?
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
http://www.nytimes.com/2001/10/07/magazine/07SILVA.htmlDude. You work in a cage??
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
What's your log-in?No, I don't work in a cage, but some of the conf rooms have cage like walls, but they're open, not really cagelike.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
I just emailed you -
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
Man, now I'm all jealous. Y'all get to have conferences at outdoor fireplaces? If you tell me there's a tub full of beer there, too, I might be mad.
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
Ha, the headline is "too cool for school."The guy in the photo is the journalist. Didn't you read the caption, fool?
-- Anonymous, October 08, 2001
His identity wasn't clear in the print edition. It said "a writer," not "the writer."Still. Muscle shirts. Baaaaaaaad. I'm pretty anti-pit hair. You show me a restaurant with a male customer in a tank top, and I'll show you a place where I won't be eating.
I'm jealous of the outdoor fireplaces.
