What enlarger can be used on a copy stand?greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Film & Processing : One Thread |
I have an excellent Polaroid Copy Stand. It is very stable and has an excellent system for raising and lowering. Does anyone know of an enlarger which could be adapted to it? I only work in B&W and 35mm. It would be a great improvement over my present enlarger. Thanks for your help, Alex

Depending upon which model you have, either an MP3 or the newer MP4's, Polaroid makes (made) an enlarger conversion kit. It's set up to turn the thing into an 8x10 diffusion enlarger more or less. Might be a bit big for just 35mm, but hey--you could make enlarged contacts that way. Blow up an entire roll of 35mm onto an 11x14 sheet, with the aid of a glass carrier. I've seen the heads for MP3s sell used for around $250 or so, with an MP4, it's probably going to be pretty expensive (new). Chances are you have an MP3 (?), so if you try to find one, beware of "good deals"....there's alot of beat up used MP3 gear out there, and Polaroid made so many variations & accesories, that I recommend trying to find a good used dealer who will treat you right....could be that Arsito makes a cold light adapter for it as well. Good luck.
