Hello to all !

I have a SL camera for a while and wondered one thing. Under the rewind crank there is a rotating disk with some symbols (sun, letters "NEG", white/black box and something else I cant recall just now). And I don't mean film speed dial :)

This is what you call an educated guess, since I last saw a Leicaflex SL about 15 years ago.

It's to remind you what kind of film is in the camera, from the era before the little windows on the back. ('Sun' = daylight slide film; 'NEG' = color negative film; White/black box = B&W film; and the symbol you can't recall is almost certainly a 'lightbulb' for tungsten- balanced 'indoor' slide film.

It has no mechanical or electronic effect on camera operation, just on brain operation. In fact the meterless Leica M3/2/4s had a dial on the back with similar symbols for the same 'memory' purpose.

If I'm wrong I'll accept 10 lashes with a wet film leader. 8^)
