Limiting disease potential of elephant garlicgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
I was given some elephant garlic of which some was diseased by a kind of unidentified rot. I have sorted through and Picked the best out, but would like to disinfect them if possible. Would a mild bleach solution accomplish this for me? If so, what proportion of bleach to water would I want to use. They are rounds, not cloves, and appear healthy, but they have set next to some of the bad ones in the bag. I would really like to plant them, and am willing to take a chance (have a big garden). Any ideas??

I think a light bleach solution[1 teaspoon to a 1/2 gallon or something like that]would work. also strong tea is suposed to be a good fungicied to.Just be sure not to plant any with blimishs.
