Congratulations to all the winners of the Booster Club's Athlete of the Week Award for the Fall Sports Season. The winners were:
- September 21, 2001 - Shmane Collier - Varsity Football
- September 28, 2001 - Emily Koehl - Girls Softball
- October 05, 2001 - Wil Cramer - Cross Country
- October 12, 2001 - Gineekia Welch - Varsity Cheerleading
- October 19, 2001 - Wesley Taylor - JV Football
- October 26. 2001 - Rebecca Tolmach - Cross Country
- November 02, 2001 - Nicholas Oliver - Varsity Football
- November 09, 2001 - Nick Stephens - Cross Country
- November 16, 2001 - Courtney Johnson - Varsity Cheerleading
All winners received a gift bag containing AOTW t-shirt - sponsored by B&L Wrecker Service, Certificate, gift certificates for food from Jersey Mikes and Subway, school supplies donated by Staples, and other goodies. The winners were forwarded to the AJC for consideration for their AOTW award -- no winners yet, but we'll keep trying.
Nominations for the Winter Sports (JV and Varsity Girls' and Boys' Basketball, and Cheerleading) will begin this week, with the first winner announced next weekend.
We can always use help soliciting donations from area businesses for the Prize Bags -- if you have a business or patronize one in the Grady area that you think might be supportive of the AOTW program please contact Sarah Chaffin -- 404.377.5487. The winner of the Athlete of the Week Award for the week of October 26, 2001 is Rebecca Tolmach of the girls' Cross Country Team. Rebecca ran the fastest time of all the Grady runners at the City Championships at Grant Park to help the Girls' team win First Place. She has improved dramaticaally this season. Rebecca was nominated by Coach Jeff Cramer.

The Grey Knights Booster Club is proud to announce two new winners of the Athlete of the Week Award.For the week of October 12, 2001, the winner is Ginnekia Welch of the Varsity Cheerleading Squad. Gineekia has been a cheerleader for four years, serving as captain this year. She has provided a lot of leadership for her team and always gives 110%. She was nominated by Mrs. Lareese McNew.
For the week of October 19, 2001, the winner is Wesley Taylor of the JV Football team. Wesley plays Wide Receiver and scored two touchdowns in last Saturday's game vs. Therrell. He was nominated by Coach Patrick Thomas.
