I'm glad you found it! How much do you have to buy? How far does it go? I've been wanting to do some "practice" candlemaking.

I want to have top bar hives, I'm HOPING next year. You get more wax with top bar hives, you can build them yourself without being a cabinet maker, and they're easier to care for. Less disease, and the bees seem to survive better. We'll see if I make it or not, so far I'm a year behind on the livestock and 2 years behind on just about everything else.

I tried top bar hives the first year,, what a pain, everytime I checked the hives,, had comb falling all over the place,, what a sticky mess. AS for less deisese,, NOPE,, surviv better? no a differance, harder to check for deises and such. Im buying 50 pounds, can always add more on,how much do you want? email me and let me know

Sojourner-

Don't delay in getting your bees- you'll kick yourself later on when you do get them for not having started sooner!!!! They are so fascinating, and the first hive or two that you get is merely the tip of the iceberg. Knowing you as we do, LOL, my bet is that you'll be as taken with them as I was, and once you get your hive(s) set up there is so much more to learn- local botany, plant blooming schedules, extracting and bottling, pollination, queen rearing, wax processing and candle making, and on and on.........
