And Enjoy This Rare Halloween Full Moongreenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
Go out and enjoy the full moon this evening. It won't happen on Halloween again until the year 2020. Heck, a lot of us probably won't be alive then.

The moon is great and at 7:56 pm,10/31/01 - the malls are still standing, the kids have enjoyed another trick or treat session. Oh! how fear can become a cruel mental partner.

And in Northern NYS it's raining . . . :(

Beautiful clear sky out tonight, and I do understand why it is called a "blue moon"!!! Everything outside is bathed in a bluish tinted hue, very stunning and yet very eerie, how appropriate for Halloween.I am planning on still being here in 2020, I'll be 63 and still a moon watching kid at heart!

We never got to see it here in Maine. It was cloudy since afternoon. Oh well, maybe it's be clear in 2020! I'll be sure to watch. (Patience is a virtue, after all....I need to have at least one!)

I plan on still being here in 2020! We have clouds, but thin ones, and I could see the moon shining through. It was quite light out from the moonlight. Maybe it'll be clear tomorrow night, when it's still quite full.

Here in New Mexico the sky is clear and this blue moon night is beautiful. The coyotes aren't singing, making this a very quite night. The only 'spooky' things out this late are a few rattlers that haven't crawled into their winter dens. God's peace to you, sleep well. Lynnae in Alamogordo, NM

It was cloudy night here in Nova Scotia and the rain started somewhere in the middle. It was a big improvement over last years trick or treating...rained and was cold and I wiped out in the mud in a neighbor's yard while escorting my winnie the pooh and fireman back to our vehicle. No wipe outs this year except for my fireman tripped and went sprawling in another neighbor's yard in his rush to beat us to the door. Speed kills, I tell him, but at 4 he just doesn't get it. Hope you all got a share of treats and no tricks last night! :o)

Yes, the full moon was beautiful. It was still out, ready to set, at 7 a.m. this morning in the western sky above the horizon AND in the eastern sky, the sun was rising at the same time. Now that was something new to me and beautiful.
