Being relatively new to Ms, and interested in all things mechanical, I was wondering where I might obtain a manual (factory or otherwise)on M construction/maintenance and or repairs. I have seen the Micro Works tool kit and it has piqued my curiosity even more. What would you recommend? BTW I do not plan on doing my own CLAs, just curious and in need of enlightenment. Thanx all.

I have seen repair manuals posted on ebay for sale. They are almost always M repair manuals. I do not know whether or not they are actual Leica products or put together by others. I do not even know if they are authentic but they are advertised on ebay quite frequently.Hope this bit of information proves helpful.

Below are all the copies of the official ones that are commonly available. There are also a couple articles from the now defunct Camera Craftsman; one on the M4 and one on the M5.http://www.photobooksonline.com/books/manual05.html

Ed Romney has a couple of choices llisted on his site:http://www.edromney.com/products.html
- I have the general leica RF booklet and it's useful, though on the brief side if you had a factory service manual in mind. They're about $30 or so.
