Hi,

Does anybody know any thing on this new limited edition M6? Is it in chriome/satin or grey finish? What type of leather and colour is used? Is it a 0.72 or 0.85 or 0.58? Any other differences compared to the regular M6 TTL except for the price? What's its availability and at what price? Is there a web site having description or review on it? Any picture?

What a strange grouping of lenses. Why the 90 'cron? I guess its to add some ballast to the camera bag ;-)

They had to come with different lenses than those they have offered in the past (35/1,4 (old), 35/1,4 ASPH, 50/1,4 and 90/2,8).

More importantly, I'd like to hear from all those critics that thought the Ostrich looked bad on the M6 Classic Titanium! IMO, the tan is gross - Looks like the inside of a baby's diaper to me...

The titanium version of the M6 classic (the one with the "ostrich leather") is a very attractive camera. I don't agree with those who don't like the leather body covering, it's certainly much nicer than the leatherette on the regular M6 cameras. The M6 TTL Ti will probably also be very attractive, but you have to decide whether it is worth paying a significant premium for this finish.

The problem with the titanium lenses is that they are significantly heavier than the black versions (actually about the same weight as the chrome lenses), since the titanium is plated onto a brass barrel, not the lighter alloy they use for the regular black lenses. The increased weight is really a big deal, especially if you are talking about already heavy lenses such as the 90/2.0 APO ASPH (500 g in black finish). Even for the smaller 35 and 50 mm lenses, you may not appreciate the significantly added heft of the titanium versions.

I think if anyone wants an M6 titanium, your best bet is the previous non-TTL version, which can be bought when available for considerably less that the new one will cost. I can live without the TTL flash feature, especially since i mostly still use my M4P with Leicameter MR4.

I REALLY like the look of this M6 and set of lenses: both the titanium finish and the brown leather body covering; I just wish I could afford them :-).

why don't they make it completely (lenses&body) out of titanium. yes it would cost even more, but would have a real benefit rather than cosmetic. it would be lighter, stronger & more durable. possibly even anodise it matt black/gunmetal grey. and instead of leather body covering they could use kevlar. just a thought..
