One time my cat had a reaction to some flea control stuff that we used on him. He had what looked to be an epileptic seizure and dragged his back legs around. It was awful. We took him to the vet, they gave him a shot of some sort and he came out of it very very slowly. Did you give him anything like a wormer, flea control or anything like that when it happened? Could he have gotten into anything? That is probably not what it was with your cat at all, but just thought in case I would say something. My cat is fat and sassy now! Very fat and very sassy :~)! Hope your's=^..^= is too again soon!

I hope your cat gets better soon.

My aunts cat did something like that cause cats get those chrystal like things in their kidneys. Man, i wish i remembered what it was called so i could tell you. But the vet said alot of the stuff you buy cats to feed them have this stuff in it that causes them and she had to start buying it Iams at a pet store and it made it better. Does anyone know what i am talking about?

Yes this has happened to me as well. my tailess cat & ancient 'queen' cat both had sensitive skin and reacted to flea bites w/ weeepy sores, scabs and then puffy bald areas. The shot cleared them right up. & whenever it would start up again [the scabbing] I was instructed to give those tiny white pred. pills once a day for 3-4 days to clear it up.

worked great & the bloody cost of those pills 9.00$$$ + office visit sure helped me remember to keep my furry friends on flea control! My doc. said if the preds. did not clear it right up then we were looking at going to the specialty cat food that is more expensive than most of what I eat.+yikes+

Hi Maureen, I'm glad to hear your cat will be ok. I had to respond to your letter. I had a golden retreiver who in her later years developed weak hips and the vet would give her prednisone. (would that be the same as predisolone?) It worked very well. She would have a series of pills and be fine for months. Did your vet happen to say what the cause of the back end problem was? Just curious. My brother had a black lab who had a chronic cough and their vet prescribed prednisone for that too. Must be one of those all purpose meds?
