Why don't they bring back...?greenspun.com : LUSENET : MATH Plus One : One Thread |
What cancelled TV show do you wish would somehow find its way back onto the airwaves with new episodes?

Besides Sports Night, because of course everyone thinks that. Or should. At least the reruns are on Comedy Central.

Oh, Freaks and Geeks, no question. And I would desperately love to have my old beloved Square One TV back.

Freaks and Geeks, definitely. There are only a few shows that left before their time - lots of great shows either passed their prime or ended just at the right time.

I would love to see a new season of Blackadder.Three weeks ago I would also have said AbFab, but they have new episodes now!

My So Called Life, and Claire Danes has to pretend she's 16 years old. And I would like new episodes of The Young Ones, plus 120 Minutes hosted by Kevin Seal. I don't care if he's 50, the man IS alternative.

I'm in with the Freaks and Geeks crowd. I can't watch it without becoming entirely nostalgic of my own teen years in the eighties.

Freaks and Geeks. No question about it.

Voyager.Although it would be hard since Jon-Eric Hexum is dead.

China Beach

Hells yeah to Sports Night and My So-Called Life. Both shows I adored and miss like crazy.

I love China Beach. Fortunately, THE HISTORY CHANNEL runs episodes. :)

Who remembers Brimstone with Peter Horton? I loved that show, and even though 13 episodes were filmed, only about six got aired. (Luckily, my husband found a source and we have all 13 on VHS.) Anyway, it was far better than that Geena Davis crap that Horton was in next.~Julie

Word to Sports Night, Freaks and Geeks, and My So-Called Life. Where's the love for the Ben Stiller Show?
-- Anonymous, December 05, 2001
Where's the love for the Ben Stiller Show?My brother and I still joke about the sketch on that show with the sock puppet. I forget what it was called, but its catchphrase was "Shut your trap!"
Man. That show kicked ass.

Rescue.....411.I have the whole show on tape. Love it.

Herman's Head.I know, shut up. I mostly loved it because I loved seeing the Voice-of-Lisa-Simpson girl actually get to act in a role.
A role that wasn't the retarded girl in "The Legend of Billie Jean," I mean.

If the female voice on Herman's Head is the one I'm thinking of (with the long beautiful curly brown hair and the huge pretty smile), she was also Shae, Amanda Jones' best friend in the movie "Some Kind of Wonderful".A movie which contained too much goodness. Oh, the love.
-- Anonymous, December 06, 2001
Oh my god! The female voice in Herman's Head is now on that awful, awful show Yes, Dear! I have been trying to figure out where I've seen that woman before ever since I caught a glimpse of her when I was flipping channels a few months ago!God, I'm glad somebody listed Herman's Head. I loved that show, and I have to say that Inside Schwartz is a cheap, bastardized ripoff. So sad.
-- Anonymous, December 06, 2001
Inside Schwartz, Ally McBeal, the now-defunct HBO product Dream On... the idea behind Herman's Head has been quite popular to bastardize.

Parker Lewis Can't LoseA classic by any definition. The Shirts, the swatches, the hair AND the guy who is now on ER but was the bully on Parker Lewis.
-- Anonymous, December 12, 2001
We called our assistant principal in high school "Ms. Musso." She was dead ringer for the character on Parker Lewis.Of course, it was no Beans Baxter as far as FOX series go.

The star of Herman's head went to my undergrad. I'm so proud. *sniff*I'd kill for some more episodes of My So Called Life.
