I have 5 different prints by the artist Tsanya but have not been able to find any information on this person. These prints are a harlequin series printed in the 1920's and are very beautiful. They are all 11" x 19" and have a black background. So, if you know where I can find it, please let me know. Thanks so much.

HI, I have seen 2 different prints so far. I run across them often. PLease let me know if you can send me pictures of what you have. I bought one and it was damaged by rain in shipment so I did not keep it. I have seen them sell for up to and sometimes more than 50 dollars. I also have 2 prints I purchased in 1972. I paid $32.00 ea. I have also not been able to find any info about the artist tho I suspect the name may be Swedish or Norewigne. I have never seen any others for sale. Any ideas were to find them. I was told there were 16 prints in the 'harlequin series'.

I see them off and on at www.ebay.com, but have never come across one elsewhere. This artist is similar in style to Marygold, who also has a series as you describe. Good luck with your search!

I am also looking for more copies of this artist. I have 2 that I purchased in Los Angeles in 1973. I heard there were six in the series. I paid $35 for each at that time.

I have a tea tray that has a print of "The Fountain of Love" by Tsanya, it was my Grandmother's and I've never seen anything else like it. No new info here sorry, just also looking for an answer. //Amy

I've submitted questions about this artist to an art history museum in Melbourne Australia. Why? Because of a piece that's been in my family for years and years. "Enchantment" is the title in small print on the bottom, where it indicated that it's a lithograph produced in Melbourne, Australia. The piece is signed Tsanya, and features a man playing a mandolin, a lady in a ballgown, a fountain and a peacock. I'll forward any info I receive. I've been frustrated on this one too!

Well I cannot answer your question, just having problems like everyone on doing search for the artist Tsanya. Apparently Tsanya was a pseudonym used by an artist called Glad Houser (or Hauser) and the paintings were done for cutting as jigsaw puzzles in the 1930s in the US. See the website www.oldpuzzles.com for more about this. There are some answers on the thread that indicate people are trying to track down info in Australia as this where there prints were made - I actually live in Australia and the 1 print I have was printed in Boston USA - (I think - would have to de-frame to check again). I have been hunting for more in Australia for last year and visited many hundreds of Antique stores - I have only ever found one - damaged and not in original frame (overpriced for me at about AUD$350 (USD$250). Am interested in Tsanya & Marygold if anyone ever wants to sell. I have found 3 Marygold (2 identical). Good luck with your collecting.

I have many Marygold prints. I too have been searching for any information on her. She was from England I understand. I have been looking for her series of fairy princesses. I have 2 of them in this series. I understand there are 4. She often did 4 in a series I have found.

Ebay has had many Tsanya prints. Last year they had lots of supposedly found never framed prints. All the colors were amazing. I wondered if someone was reprinting them.
