I know we have some Food TV devotees on the forum. Is anyone watching their series Cooking School Stories, Monday nights at 10:30? I am addicted to this documentary-type show about a group of students at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI.Last night somebody fainted during show plates! It was great.

Oh no... I feel a new obsession coming on...

I've been trying to resist that show, but I feel my resolve beginning to collapse as we speak.

The crappy thing is, right after I posted this question I went to the Food TV site and figured out it's only a six-part series. And the last episode airs next week on Christmas Eve. My bad, sorry. Hopefully they will reair it though, it's a great series. Be sure to catch it if you can.One kid has only one hand. He has this kick-ass knife attachment on a prosthesis and he can chop like a mofo. Plus he's really cute. The professor is awesome, too, very supportive while being firm and instructive. These kids cook all day at school! I am insanely jealous.

Here's a press release from J&W about the show. Very interesting. It talks about one-hand boy too. I call him Lefty.I don't get the Boston Public thing. What?

Sorry -- there's a character on the show who lost her hand, and half the plotlines this season have been about her lost hand/her prothesis/et cetera.

Oh! Okay, I get it. See, I shouldn't expect to understand it, since I don't watch the show. Does that character have the Ginzu prosthesis?
-- Anonymous, December 18, 2001
HAAAAA! Not a Ginsu prosthesis. Now that nearly took me DOWN.
Last night somebody fainted during show plates! It was great.
See, this is the kind of drama I like to see on the Food TV. Surely they'll air it again.

Umm...I have a confession to make.
I love this show. And a lot of other shows on FoodTV.
And also? This is the second time they've run this series since it started. I'm almost ashamed to admit that I know that, but I know I'm among friends, yo.
I want them to do a new one!!!

Alison! So Lefty. He's cute, ain't he?I am so glad they already reran it once, because that means they'll probably rerun it again.

I bet he'd be a lot cuter if he could attach a George Foreman grill to his arm.
