This was not a good week for our feisty friend. Monday night she was taken to Lakewood OH Hospital ER. Tuesday morning she had gall bladder surgery. It did not go too well. As I understand it, she had a respiratory reaction to the anesthetic. Also, the operation could not be performed via laparoscope so she is recovering from the traditional painful incision. There are other tests and diagnoses to be made. There may be other surgery. I do not understand all the issues. She misses the Forum and the chatroom and hopes to be released from the hospital next week (still under review).
Her son in Tampa has been very supportive. She asks for your prayers (for those who do not pray, maybe a small toast?) Oxy has been through so much in the past 15 months; her pain is relentless yet her spirit prevails.

Lars,Pass on to her that Sandy and I will *definitely* add her to our prayers.

Thank you so much Lars. When you speak to Oxy again, please give her my love. I sent her a Christmas card, but sent to her home, so who knows when she'll get it. I just want her to know that I am thinking of her and sending hugs from across the miles. May God bless you Lars for being such a good and kind friend. xoxo

Thanks dude,Tell'er capn said "Ya gotta keep the faith" and that I have a prayer in for her speedy return.
-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), December 21, 2001.
Wow. That woman has had more than anyone's share. I don't "pray" much, but I certainly shall do so for her. Thanks Lars. This place wouldn't be the same without you.
-- Uncle Deedah (unkeeD@yahoo.com), December 21, 2001.
Please give her my love too, Lars. May God (if He exists) bless this precious woman and help get her through this.
-- Eve (eve_rebekah@yahoo.com), December 21, 2001.
Thanks for the update Lars…Any ‘prayers’ from me might anger the gods, or at best confuse the hell out of them.
Sooooo, please tell Oxy that an old Irish chant will be muttered tonight on her behalf.

Lars,Thanks for the update. She has been in my thoughts and prayers for awhile now... She is a rugged spirit... and she needs to be.
Scratchin' an itch...

Soc,I tried to email you but it was returned. I must have an incorrect addy.
I also did a search on "Irish chants" hoping to find a bawdy one. No luck. Too bad, Oxy would enjoy that.
Everyone---
Thanks to all for your thoughts. I will send Oxy the entire thread. I talked to her today and she sounded much better.

Get well soon, Oxy!(I wanted it to look Christmasy) ; )
-- Pammy (pamela_sue57@hotmail.com), December 22, 2001.
I hope she's feeling well enough to be home for Christmas.
-- helen (thoughts@for.oxy), December 22, 2001.
A special "Merry Christmas" to you, Oxy.
-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), December 25, 2001.
Oxy sends greetings to Unk: "Shine on you crazy diamond". Hope I got that right, I'm not Pink Floyd literate.
-- (lars@indy.net), December 25, 2001.
That's just right, Lars. Christmas prayers to Oxy.

All that you touch
All that you see
All that you taste
All you feel.
All that you love
All that you hate
All you distrust
All you save.
All that you give
All that you deal
All that you buy,
beg, borrow or steal.
All you create
All you destroy
All that you do
All that you say.
All that you eat
And everyone you meet
All that you slight
And everyone you fight.
All that is now
All that is gone
All that's to come
and everything under the sun is in tune
but the sun is eclipsed by the moon.
Merry Christmas Oxy,
(((((Oxy)))))

lars, Stephen, cin, capnfun, Uncle Deedah, Eve, Socrates, The Dog, Pammy, helen, Anita, just an anon ... all of you --Hello friends,
What power there is in your prayers and chants, well wishes, reverent or bawdy. They do make a difference.
I came home yesterday with the gates still open, the future still intact, although the road may be a bit fuzzy, Evidently this is a situation where the jury just trickles back in, one at a time.
Have determined my plan is still to walk and dance this year.
How to follow all these wonderful comments and lyrics from you ...
Unk, I like the reference to eclipse. In the end, don't many of us have the freedom to interpret our own personal eclipses?
Is your eclipse a pawprint on prose? A scary omen? Or the magician's black drape before the manifestation of unexpected gifts?
God bless, and thank you all. Oxy

Welcome back, Oxy. May it truly be a HAPPY New Year for you.
-- Pammy (pamela_sue57@hotmail.com), January 01, 2002.
Oxy, take it really easy now that you are at home. Gat others to do everything for you. Give your body the sleep and rest it needs to heal. From what I have read, you've been given more than most could take, and are still beating the odds. Heres hope for no more relapses, it's time for you to get the good news when the phone rings. A little blood from the unmilical cord of a newborn would do wonders in speeding up your healing, don't know if they do that where you live, but have heard about it being done with good results.I had missed you in the "chat", didn't know what happened and was afraid to ask. Here hoping the new year brings possitive trends in every area of your life! {{{hugs}}

Dittos on the welcome back, Oxy. Dittos on the take it easy and rest a lot, as well. 2002 seems to be looking better already.
-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), January 01, 2002.
Good to see ya up and about again hon.Being at home is a fantastic way to start the new year out.Glad you made it through that batch of grief.
-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), January 01, 2002.
Hey Oxy,Nice start to what will be a good year. Your spirit will be your best weapon against the forces of bad circumstance. Now, I have a little Irish thought to send your way:
A PIPER in the streets to-day
Set up, and tuned, and started to play,
And away, away, away on the tide
Of his music we started; on every side
Doors and windows were opened wide,
And men left down their work and came,
And women with petticoats coloured like flame.
And little bare feet that were blue with cold
Went dancing back to the age of gold,
And all the world went gay, went gay,
For half an hour in the street today.
Oxy, may the ‘piper’ fill your every moment.
