I hope you guys can help me. I have an R4s and an R4 motor drive. My problem is that the thing will sometimes go full auto when you hit the shutter. It will go all the way to the end of the frame counter. Also, it's going way faster than it should (like 6-8 frames per second, so don't ask me how the camera's keeping up.) It also only does it when stopped down to F11-16. (No kidding.) Luckily I almost always end up shooting almost wide open at Hail Mary shutter speeds, so it hasn't been a big problem, just very annoying. I also tried a Tamron with the adaptall once, and it did this full auto thing no matter what I did. Hope you can help me! Thanks.

I agree with Doug. Sounds like one of those kitchen appliances Tim Allen turbocharged on "Home Improvement". Better have it looked at before you smoke the drive and the camera.

Hi Lance

I put in the previous winder question. But I'm a bit ashamed to tell what the problem was. If the counter reaches 36, there will be no more pulses to the motor drive (to avoid broken film). While I was testing the camera with the drive it reached 36 and then (ofcourse) it stopped functioning. As I didn't open the camera to put in a new film because I thought it was broken, it never started working :-)

(I bought the winder 2nd hand, so I don't have a manual. BTW Does anyone know when the winder beeps. I noticed it on several occasions but couldn't figure out a common rule. I used to my x-700 beeping at under-exposures)

Thanks for the info. I suppose it probably is time for a CLA. Now I get to find someone in Iowa that I can trust with my baby. Any suggestions? Reinier, the winder beeps when the rewind lever is moved to the rewind postition. It took me a bit to figure that one out! Thanks again, everyone.
