Y'all, I told Vince Chao the story last night, and he was all het up! I couldn't believe how aggravated he got about something online, because he never gets on there at all. He say, "Man. I just booked a hotel for sxsw. My head hurts. But I was all sad because it was like 1.2 miles from the capitol, but then I realized, only HALF a mile from 6th st. I smarter than I think. AAA discount rules my world.

As of 7:00 this evening, Edna, Gene, Nicole, and I will be in New Orleans. Where will Chris be? Atlanta, of course.

I think I'm a little high strung today. I'm sure everyone will get along fine, and no one is all that boring, but our families are very different. Well, they're alike, but different, if that makes sense. Who knows. I think my dad and Gene are going to spend some bonding time, although my dad was disappointed that Gene doesn't run. And, my dad already made the ?Wait - their names are Edna and Eugene??? Who names their kids that?" Uh, Polish people, dad. He's just glad his mother didn't have her way, naming him Aeugenisch (that's phoenetic).

T, when my parents met Vince's parents, we all went out to this restaurant in Monroe and got drunk. Like, all of us. It was the best meeting ever, and they all loved each other by the end of the night. Oh, shit, I forgot about this until now! After the drunken dinner, we all went to shoot pool at this crazy pool hall right by the restaurant, even my mother. It was fun. Also, there were some damned fine shrimp involved.

Nothing to worry about, baby. Just make sure there's booze.

Her Monroe bashing was a few days ago - it was when she wrote about how her grandmother bought her some clothes in the Big Girl department of the Dillard's in Monroe. I remember thinking, "Girl, you're fron ARKANSAS, where your governor lives in a TRAILER, and you're making fun or LA?"

I think that her entry today was supposed to be a television review of some sort, but I'm not sure. I checked her blog out - how many quizzes are there on the internet, already?

It looks like they fell into a decent situation, and really, housing prices in Texas (especially the way-out-there suburbs, where I'm sure they bought, are looooooooow. Compared to Atlanta, at least. And it they don't have a downpayment to wory about and with interest rates the way they are, a mortgage is often comparable to rent. There are plenty of other costs (like neighborhood association fees for an association that does NOTHING, but that's another story.)

My flight is at 5:20 - I'll probably leave here around 3:45. I'm doing the park & fly since Chris' schedule is so up in the air (they're closing today, but they don't know how long the jury will deliberate), and the park & fly is only $1 more than parking at Marta (since Marta is DUMB). The airport is usually crazy crowded on Friday evenings, but I'm going to totally pull rank and go for the Medallion security line. The shower is tomorrow, and I'll be back on Monday afternoon.
