Is it true that this combo is compatable? Will I get the use of ALL the SF-20 features if I used these together?

It better be... I just ordered one.

Yup! The SC17 will work perfectly with your SF20/M6TTL combo off- camera. (However, it WILL NOT allow the SF20 to be used in TTL mode on a Nikon body!)

Cheers Gent's.Is there anything you lot don't know? This is a great site!

Yes, it is fully compatible, like the Contax TLA 100 cable also.

Using the Pentax flash cable system allows you to mount a viewfinder as well.

Kirk Enterprises offers an SC-17 with "shortened cord" for those who find the length of the standard cord too long. In this case, less costs more.

The Contax cord performs exactly the same functions as the SC-17, only it costs about HALF! Looks like a no-brainer to me.

The TLA 100 (despite having only 3 contacts) work with the R8 and the M6 TTL (and their 4 contacts) because that fourth contact (the closest to the front of the camera) is not used for the moment by the cameras or their flash (SF-20, Metz SCA 3501 and 3502). In the Leica SF-20 instruction book, on page 20/21 about that fourth contact, Leica wrote : '18c : additional contact (currently not assigned)'.This may change on future Leica camera or flash.
That day, only the SC-17 will work with them.
