I really wish that someday I could see these Norther Lights. Living in the mountains of northern PA it looks like my chances are slim...1%-5% according to the map. It would be so thrilling. Enjoy the view for me !!!!

you might get a chance. They were visible all over the US as far south as Texas on November 5/6. Pics-http://spaceweather.com/aurora/gallery_06nov01.html

I live in Maine and did see them once years ago. It was an awesome site. Kind of remides me of the beauty of God's handiwork. I am sure they are visible more often here but that was the only time I happened to see them. I remember I was in bed and I saw lights outside the window and got up to see what was going on. Work up everyone in the house to see the display.

I saw them once about ten, twelve years ago and thought the world was comeing to and end. I couldn't figure out what was going on. Went inside and turned the local news on and they explained what it was and gave their scientific explanation on how it happens. What a relief!

I have been absolutely addicted to www.spaceweather.com and the newsletters that you can subscribe to. They send out about 1 mailing per week and let you know when to look for auroras, meteors etc. I highly recommend subscribing!!

I am so lucky! I can sit on my upper deck and not only watch the northern lights when they are out, but I can sit and watch the sunrise and set from the same vantage point. When the meteor shower happened this fall, my son and I wrapped up in down comforters and sat and watched. I am truely blessed!

Yeah, were pretty lucky up here in Saskatchewan too. I was a night worker (outside) for many years so I've seen them to my heart's content. They always seem to be more beautiful than the last time...especially when they are in color. It's kinda hard to buckle down and get to work then.
