Well, this month is going faster than expected, so that's good, right?

You know... I am having one of those days where I wish I was my own boss and nobody would ever tell me anything again.

Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh.

It depends on how I'm looking at my to-do list, as my wedding is barely more than four months away.

Which reminds me - Joh - I have the sheet that you need for your measurements, but as it's in Spanish, I need to get my friend Liz to translate it. As soon as she does (in the next day or so), I'll fax it to you. That way, we can order the fabric first thing next week (so it will all be the same dye lot) and the dresses can get done.

Why is it in Spanish? What if they lady makes the dresses blanco instead of azul?

Oh, the dresses will definitely be azul. Marta is fluent in English, but her first language is Spanish - she usually takes the measurements, so the sheets are in Spanich as that's the language she thinks in. Or something. So Liz is going to translate. I do know that "pinza" means the measurement from nipple to nipple...

So what's your schedule now again? How are things in news?

Chris won his case! No more time-suck! Yay!

-- Anonymous, January 16, 2002

Of course he did! It seemed pretty obvious. Yay for smart jurors! What's the settlement?

-- Anonymous, January 16, 2002

I'm 2-10 Sunday-Monday, 3-11 Tuesday-Thursday until the end of February.

The verdict is for $25,000,000. If Fulton County had a lick of sense, they'd have settled this months ago for $5 million. Fools, is what they are. They'll appeal, no doubt, but as this is the FIFTH reverse discrimination case that the county has lost in the past few years, and it's safe to say that this is one of the largest reverse discrimination verdicts ever, then I'm going to wager that the county ends up settling for about $18 million.

You know, I really don't like the term "reverse discrimination." Making a list of all the black employees and all the white employees at Central Library, and then saying - on tape - that there are too many "old white faces" at Central Library is straight-up racism, the same as if they had said there were too many blacks or Asians, or whatever, at the library.
