The red dot does all the work.

Another Leica fallacy is:

Leica R-system lenses are worse quality than the M-system lenses :). (Seems like John and I share the same brand of the four Shakespearean humour.)

John and Alfie:

Are you two perhaps long lost cousins? Or possibly twins separated at birth?

;-)

I think that we can be related. I don't know how but the only difference between us is probably the fact that I don't have the dough or credit line to own up to a Leica M6. At least not yet. Plus I enjoy R8.

How do you expect to get the best performance from your Red Dot when it's covered with fungus?

-- Mike Dixon (mike@mikedixonphotography.com), January 22, 2002.

John,

Definitely time for a CLA on that red dot. ;-)

Sorry, but as a traditionalist I must take issue with the fact you have used a "Leica" dot and not a "Leitz" one....

There are two things that really peeve me when I see them:

People that buy into Leica fallacies

And...

People that buy into Leica phallicies

BTW Mike, that isn't fungus, its a black truffle. I keep that particular red dot under an oak tree cause its a 7 year gold mine.

Will no one rid us of this lunatic?

-- Gulley Jimson (gulleyjimson@hotmail.com), January 23, 2002.

Huh??

-- Richard (rvle@yahoo.com), January 23, 2002.

Gulley, you are a strange fellow! Judging from your last post regarding your sojourn with the Nikon F100 it would appear that you are obsessed with your equipment. May I make a suggestion that you dwell a little less on what others are doing and MORE on improving the quality of your photography?

Can't remember the last time I became "technically proficient" with a new camera system in a mere 1 week then decided to dump it.

For those who strongly disagree with the content and intent of some message threads, ignore them. If enough like minded people ignore them, the theads will scroll off the 7 day listing into obscurity. Complaining in the forum only serves to perpetuate the thread in the "New Postings" list. And while you're at it, why not start some intellectually stimulating threads of your own?
