I have a question regarding M6 shutter adjustment. I have heard that once you wind the shutter, you better not change it since it might be harmful to the mechanism in long run. But for M6, I have to adjust the shutter after it is wound since the meter only work after it is wound. Pls give me some advice on this. Thanks

I think this advice may be a holdover from the Compur shutter, such as found on a Rolleiflex TLR.

It is absolutely not a problem to adjust the speed while the shutter is wound.

If you think about it, it would make no sense to have to set shutter speed before cocking the shutter, because (a) as you say, the meter only works when the shutter is cocked; and (b) if you use a motor drive, the shutter is automatically cocked after each shot.
