M lenses and M6 for sale...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

I have an M6 and a few M lenses I have decided to get rid of, and thought I'd offer them up here before listing them on eBay this weekend. Reply to me off list if interested.

90 pre-APO Summicron, latest pre-APO version with built-in hood and E55 filters, includes front and rear caps, but no box. MINT- $800?

35 asph Summicron, includes lens shade and rear cap, but no box case or front cap. MINT- $900?

21 asph, latest version with all caps, shades box case and paperwork. ANIB (As New In Box) $1400???

M6 Classic Black, .72, includes original box, case, strap and body cap. This is the one with the odd serial number of 1995000, which according to Gandy's list should be an R. Anyway, it is in superb condition and still has the plastic on the bottom plate. MINT- $1300?

I would also consider trades (whole or partial at equivalent value) for R body and lens(es) or a fixed-lens Minilux.

Also, I'm happy to give a 7-day return policy.

Attn Tony: No need to archive, please delete this thread on 1/28.

:) Cheers,

I should have also indicated I would consider in trade an M6TTL .72 body (preferably chrome) or even an LHSA black paint .72 body.

Hey, Jack, why are you selling? I've always considered you an M loyalist.

Ted:

Well, here is my answer:

I own three 90's and can only use one at a time so it is time for at least one to go. I have both the 35 asph 'Cron and the 35 asph 'Lux, use the 'Lux most of the time, so the 'Cron just sat... I use the 24 for most of my super-wide photography, so the 21 sits in the cabinet most of the time too. And, when I need the 21, the 24 is the lens usually in my bag anyway because I can't seem to convince myself to carry both at the same time! (However, I am waffling a little bit on selling the 21, as when I do use it I like the results!) Lastly, the M6 Classic gets used begrudgingly when I need a third body because I prefer the metering LEDs and shutter dial in my TTL's, hence my desire for a trade for another M6TTL.

Hope this clarifies the situation for you, and I don't think there is any need for concern over my M loyalty!

;-) Cheers,

Thanks, Jack. For a second I was worried you were abandoning the M system. Kind of like in the stock market when a big shareholder starts unloading stock ahead of everyone else because he's got inside information.

Ted:

Nope, just re-distributing a bit of my portfolio!

;-) Cheers,

I'd be even more worried if Jack was selling equipment that he didn't already own or he just borrowed from someone else.

That would be the equivalent of SHORT selling in the market.

(Just teasing Jack)

Good idea John -- Can I borrow your 75?

;-)

If you do, ya better hope that the market value of the 75 doesn't go up after you sell it.

I know its very hard to fathom in todays economy but on occasion shorters do get...

...BURNED

;-)

Hey Jack, is that the 35 Ashp that I traded you? I've been wishing I had that back since. In fact, it's really hurt my M usage. Still, I'd like to look for a 1.4 first. Please let me know if you should happen to no-sale it on ebay. Thanks, Jason Lee
