Turkey Lurkeys!!!!!greenspun.com : LUSENET : A Country Singletree : One Thread |
Ok you all! Jay put himself out there for us. And I know I am not the only one who had expresses an interest in the forum. We could all go back and look on the original posting, by I believe Grizz (sorry Grizz if it wasn't you), and se all the interest. Now when Jay has worked and set this up for us and agreed to all the hard work associated with being the forum moderator. He has been the only one, with the exception of a few brave women, to post any topics. I know you all are out there LURKING! Well that's fine but if this forum fails how are you going to feel. I know I'll feel pretty crappy! I already feel really discouraged and disappointed. I was really hoping for some fun, good information, and support from the other single homesteaders. I'm not angry but feeling really blaaaah (no word to discribe it)!!Come on get off the stick, pull your thumbs out of your butts, come out of the closet, be brave, show your stuff. Arn't we all supposed to be friends here?
Maybe I such an mean nasty person and that's whay I'm no longer married! Not really I just have empathy for other's hard work and want them to have their rewards.

Thanks Grizz! I sort of feel like that guy on the countryside forum with the cow stick in the swamp! Now if we can just drag a few more people out of the weeds!!!!Grizz why do you think the "buttholes" are anymore likely to find you here than on the other forum? Just curous! Did you get flamed from the other comments and appearences you made? I haven't been targeted yet but maybe this will be my chance! But noone wants to have a pissing contest with a skunk.

Good Morning all--I am here--just got off the graveyard shift, bleary- eyed and ready for some shut-eye. But wanted you to know I check in here every morning to see what is going on. It is great, I think , especially if you are single to have a place you feel like it is ok to check into, where others know your name and that you have many similar interests in common. When I tell someone at work that I am going home to do chores, they don't have a clue what I am talking about, and if they did, they would question my sanity! :) So, just my 2 cents worth, to let you know I appreciate the effort in setting this up! You all take care of yourselves today!! Lynn

I think maybe enough don't know we are here. If there was an announcement of any kind on CS, to look over here, I musta missed it. One problem though--- I am here to give and get support from single homesteaders, to learn and make new acquaintances in similiar circumstances. But I have noticed since my very first posting here, I have gotten at least 4 unsolicited emails from dating services and the like, which annoys me greatly. Anyone else? Carole

Well dog gone Susan, I was just about to post a thought...and now I'm gun shy.....I'm afraid of peeing on the puddy cat. woe be unto me to stir up your ire.
-- Jim-mi (hartalteng@voyager.net), January 28, 2002.
Well, way to go Susan, stir it up, we need it. I know I lurk too much but I'm a man of few words, unless its necessary or I get my dander up, for instance, when some saucy little wench challanges. Any way, keep it up, I'm sure Jay should know how much we all appreciate what he has done for us. Maybe we can issue some real challenges to all that are lurking (single, that is) and get some real time going here. If we don't use it, we lose it. In this day and time I can tell you it is comforting to know that there are others like me who could use a word or two from someone in the same bracket, as there is too little interaction (or at least the wrong kind) in this ole world today, we all I believe could use a couple kind words now and then. Wouldn't it be great if we all could have a rendezous (spelling) in a central place - nothing beats a face to face. I don't know if anyone else had the same problem as I did last evening, kept getting a "page not available" when trying to bring up Lusenet. Remember, don't squat with spurs on! Cuzzin Dick

We all will start seeing unsolicited dating service mails due to the fact that these boards are public domain and can be accessed through Google. The bio's are enough to trigger the services search banshees. Do as I do , just delete them. Don't worry about lurkers. "If you should choose to lurk, you don't get to talk to all the nice boys and girls :>)

Hi everyone. I'm one of those who lurk and only respond once in awhile. I live in MN, 7 1/2 acres, raise veggies and fruits for sale, do crafts for sale, plus have a "real" job. (to get rid of some debt I was left with)I love reading the posts on countryside. Sherry
