Hey GEMANT, is Shock Troopers next?

Looks like you are the king of Neo Geo. Is Shock Troopers next?

Answers

nobody's taking Shock Troopers without weeks, maybe even months of intense study on that game. Period.

Gemant's recordings are indeed awesome, but 4 recordings does not equal "King of Neo-Geo" (and I know I'm not either)

I agree here with BBH. He's better than the...well, what used to be best. Now he is THE best. As he said, it'd take months to learn what he's learned.

I think Billy was joking. :)

What I really want to see is 41 million on Fatal Fury 2!

Eh eh eh... e bravo Gemant ;) Ricordati di mandarmi i finali dei giochi che finisci! :)

I'm sorry for answering lately, but I know very little of english, anyway I WANT to place first in almost every neo geo game, I don't care much about the general leaderboard, I like to get really high scores.

So it will take a while to get first among you all.

BBH --> I'll take Shock Troopers too, but it holds the 40th place in my list.

Ohh really? So what's your high on it?

Goodbye BBH, here comes something meatier!

"Goodbye BBH, here comes something meatier!"

what the fuck?

-- BBH (lordbbh@aol.com), January 31, 2002.

I don't have scores on Shock Troopers yet, because a cartridge version for the home system was never released, so I hadn't the chance to play it much.

I know Shock Troopers very little, for this reason I'll keep it for the end.

My favourite game is Metal Slug where in 1996 I scored 3,045,980 points.

In these days I'm improving my Art of Fighting 2 score because it seems poor to me.

Does this mean we will get a 4M point score on Twinkle Star Sprites? :P

-- Barry Rodewald (bsr@hnpl.net), February 02, 2002.

To Gemant: the highest scores in AOF 2 were achieved with Jack and King - both over 3.8 million (according to Gamest). So you probably need to use those characters to really max out your score.

-- Tenchi (rpeng@usc.edu), February 02, 2002.

Oh yeah, and don't forget 46M on Waku Waku 7 using Arina. That will be something to watch.

-- Barry Rodewald (bsr@hnpl.net), February 02, 2002.

Gemant: well, if you don't have much experience with Shock Troopers, then you have no idea how much time and effort must be spent just to reach the 30-million level. You seem a bit overconfident that you will beat it, when there probably isn't a soul on this planet who knows the game better than I.

(great, now *I* sound overconfident)

Oh im not worried at all, i think Gemant can do it. He is the neogeo master. Just look at his uploads! I'm sure Shock Troopers wont be any different.

-- billy (urgod@eudoramail.com), February 05, 2002.

Richy Cream: just thought I'd let you know, being a "fanboy" of Gemant is probably the most pathetic thing I've ever heard of. Why the fuck would you be worried over the score of a game you don't even play? (And why the fuck would you care about Shock Troopers in the first place?)

-BBH

-- BBH (lordbbh@aol.com), February 05, 2002.

Richy: So you're telling me that Gemant is going to fairly easily beat a score that is around 15% higher than the Gamest record? I tell you what, it won't be that easy at all.

I'm still looking forward to his Twinkle Star Sprites score... I wanna see 4M though. ;)

-- Barry Rodewald (bsr@hnpl.net), February 05, 2002.

OK OK, ya got me! haha

But i still think GEMANT can beat it, he is taking over neo geo by storm, i dont think anyone can deny that.

-- Richy Cream (urgod@eudoramail.com), February 05, 2002.

Zed Blade, Sonic Wings 2 or 3 too?? No, no. :)

-- INNUENDO (funit@bol.com.br), February 05, 2002.

Don't take too seriously the records you see on Gamest, they are real records, that's for sure, but there is no mention about the settings used to do them; I mean that if default settings are usually used in Japan, it doesn't happen always.

Sometimes the difficulty level is raised, but what suffers changes mostly is the time setting.

Gamest reports scores on Ninja Commando up to 12,000,000 obtained changing the time setting to 30 minutes instead of 3 and a half. On Metal Slug, maybe they changed the difficulty from 4 to 8 and maybe the time limit has been raised from 60 to 70 or even 90. It's impossible to understand if the Gamest record is valid or not without further info.

If I change some options in Art of Fighting 2 I can even score 3,000,000 with Takuma.

BBH: your Shock Troopers score is indeed awesome, I don't deny it and I'm not sure at all I can beat it. When I'll have done all the records on the games I know better, I'll dedicate myself to it seriously. You think there's no one else that knows ST better than you? I do think the same about Metal Slug.

Richy cream I love you.

I believe that Hisa once said that the majority of Gamest records achieved were done on factory default settings unless otherwise noted.

Yes, I still think I know Shock Troopers better than anyone else... I would be highly surprised if anyone has played or analyzed the game to the extent that I have. It doesn't matter how incredible your bullet-dodging skills are, because finishing the game on one credit is the first step... squeezing the maximum amount of points out of each level is much tougher.

What I still want to know is... Richy Cream, why does the Shock Troopers record matter to you? I haven't seen you submit anything on it.

-BBH

-- BBH (lordbbh@aol.com), February 06, 2002.

Well lord BBH, it matters very much to me...very, very much. I lay in bed at night thinking about it.

-- Richy Cream (urgod@eudoramail.com), February 07, 2002.

I don't know whether to take that as sarcasm or not, considering the game was important enough to get mentioned in the subject AND body... so what's the real reason? You just want to see "my" game get taken away or what? Because that's not happening.

-BBH

-- BBH (lordbbh@aol.com), February 07, 2002.

If player of BBH's caliber plays a game for couple of years, he can not be beaten just like that.

-- TJT (tiihoto@hotmail.com), February 08, 2002.

Wow!
