fast lens / wide aperture shotsgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread |
Here is some more work from LUGGER Rei Shinozuka, the Noctilux user that did those outdoor automobile shots a while back. This is a simple series of something that most of us have experienced before, shot with a Noctilux and a 35mm Summilux ASPH. The background clutter in this environment was made for wide apertures. I think f/4.0 would have rendered everything a bit too sharp overall for this subject, not to mention the hand-holdability factor.Click

Al- Thanks for posting these. Too bad it is difficult for many to show pictures with favorite lenses. We see them written about, but seldom see the results. My barber shop ought to be photographed, but it is such a small place and the widest I have right now is the 50 Elmar-M. The situation really begs for a 24, or, at least a 28.

Great shots. The pictures itself are great, IMHO no need of a wider lens for pictures like this (people in the shop). The shop itself wouldn't be half as interesting without the people in it and for shooting the interior you'd need a smaller f-stop and most probably a tripod - so no need for a M in my eyes.I really like the shots as they are !

The coma in some of the Noct. shots gives me a headache (the shots with a regular pattern like his Autumn series). All IMHT (In My Humble Taste)
Excessive abuse of f1.0
