CALLING ALL FLAMERSgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread |
Hey guys, my website, tomnutterphotos.com, is still less than half-way finished, but if you go there, click on "Places" and you will see photos all taken with leicas, an M4 and an M6. I used four lenses: a 15mm voightlander, 35mm simmicron, 50 summicron and 90 tele-elmarit.Enjoy, or flame away...I don't care. I can take it!

BY the way, the New Orleans stuff should be up in a few days.

No flames from me Tom. I don't have a site so I am not qualified to judge openly. I think you and I have been on a lot of the same soil, looking at your "Places" section. If you don't mind, I'll make a click-able link for your site to make it easier for the rest of the gang to look at it. Tom's site

There are some really nice shots in the Spain section, but you could edit out quite a few and have a much stronger presentation. The France ones I found less interesting.
-- Jeff Spirer (jeff@spirer.com), February 01, 2002.
Jeff,It's funny you say that, because I found PARIS to be a less interesting PLACE as well.

It's funny you say that, because I found PARIS to be a less interesting PLACE as well.Hah! Me too...in fact, after a week in Paris, I couldn't figure out why it is so much more popular for Americans than Spain is. And I can speak French.

Paris can be wonderful, but it takes time, much time, to find the places that are off the beaten track.

Hey Tom- You have some nice stuff here! Congrats on getting the site up. I agree with Jeff assesment that you could edit a littel tighter and get and even better presentation, but you do have some really wonderful shots up. I even liked some of the ones from Paris. You like that 15 huh? I should pick one up.I especially like your choice (or was it luck?) of the day/s you shot in Paris for the weather and the great skies.
I am in the midst of setting up my website, so forgive me for asking a couple techie questions- what film are you shooting? How are you getting it digitial? (What scanner or scanners?)
Good luck getting the site up fully! Can't wait to see more, and I'll be sure to post in a few weeks (I hope!) when my site goes live.
Thanks, and all the best.

Tom, nice shot of the kids playing football in Spain.

Tom & Jeff,I have a hard time understanding your comments about Paris. This city takes years to get to know. I spent 12 years in the middle of PAris and still don't know all the good places. It takes time.. But, we do all have our personal preferences. Tom, Really nice pictures; William

It would be very improper etique to flame someone's honest effort at making photographs. I like them by the way. Flames are reserved for large turds who sorely need to be warmed up and dried out. Small turds don't even get the Bic lighter warmed up.Keep shooting - post some more photos.

DREW--100 speed Fuichrome, some Kodak E200 and a Nikon LS2000.
Thanks for the comments.

I have a hard time understanding your comments about ParisI found French culture way too cerebral.
-- Jeff Spirer (jeff@spirer.com), February 02, 2002.
Cerebral......I just simply found it unpleasant to watch my step because of all of those cute little dogs everyone over there has. Also, that guy from Senegal selling umbrella hats by the Eiffel tower kind of ruined it for me.
You could make a living in Paris with no overhead---just hang around the Eiffel tower and charge tourists seven-francs a piece to take their picture in front of it with their own camera. I did it for free about twenty times and met quite a cross-section of America at the Same time. You could also do this at Jim Morrison's grave site.
-- Tom Nutter (tmnphotos@erols.com), February 02, 2002.
Well, Paris has its bunch of streetvendors too. A lot by the way. But Paris also goes beyond the Eiffel tower, Arc de triomphe and all other attractions. Up yo everyone to discover.
-- William Westergren (westergren@skynet.be), February 02, 2002.
Very enjoyable, Tom. You could use a link back to your thumbnail gallery from your large pictures. And links back to your homepage from every page.Let us know when you have the rest up.

Hi William, what is "Up yo..." ? Is it a typo, or an expression?Tom, great pictures, I think I may get a 15mm lens, too! I just didn't like the "tilted camera" candid pics, just not my cup of tea (well, coffee actually...) But keep up the great pics, and web page is well layed out. I'll be in Paris & Nurmberg this Spring, can't wait! Phillip
-- Phillip Silitschanu (speedin_saab@hotmail.com), February 03, 2002.
The 15 lens is a nice thing. But please don't use it too much. But I like your work, Tom. Michael
-- Michael Wildi (michaelwildi@yahoo.com), February 03, 2002.
Philipp,Sorry for typo. It should have read ' up to '.
