I'm looking for information regarding the whereabouts of a statute that once occupied a spot on the bluff at Land's End in Lincoln Park. It was called "End of the Trail" and was of an Indian on a horse. It was done by James Earl Fraser for the 1915 Panama Exposition. Bernard C. Winn

If I am correct, the original end of the trail sculpture is now at the Cowboy Hall of Fame Museum.

Bernard, there is an image with the statue in front of the Legion of Honor, probably about 1920, for an sculpture exhibition (together with many others). It went from there to Visalia, then to the Cowboy Hall of Fame. Are you interested in bringing a copy back to its original place?

There are 2 from what I understand. One is located in Visalia's Mooney Grove Park, located about 30 minutes south of Fresno. The other is at the Cowboy Hall of Fame. I actually saw this many, many times growing up. Here's a website that has all the information on it. Happy reading.

the bronze statue is in tulares, mooney park. The original James earl Frasers' statue,is in Oklahoma. Just visiting the park in tulare, two days ago, i marveled at the statue.

VISITING VISALIA,CA, MOONEY PARK HAS A REPRODUCTION OF THE ORIGINAL SCULPTURE, DONE IN BRONZE. THE INSCRIPTION THERE SAYS THE ORIGINAL IS IN THE COWBOY HALL OF FAME. ALTHOUGH THE ORIGINAL WAS IN MOONEY PARK FROM THE EARLY 1900'S TO 1967, IT WAS SENT TO THE COWBOY HALL OF FAME AT THE REQUEST OF JAMES FRASER, AND THE BRONZE REPRODUCTION HAS BEEN THERE SINCE 1967.IT IS A BEAUTIFUL DISPLAY AND TO MY KNOWLEDGE, THOSE ARE THE ONLY TWO, THAT EXIST.

Waupun, Wisconsin, is the home to a bronze casting of "The End of the Trail" by James Earle Fraser. His work there was commisioned by a wealthy Waupun industrialist by the name of Shaler. (He founded the Shaler Company which currently produces the auto engine additive "Rislone". I believe Fraser was paid $50,000 for the task; which in the early 1900's was a lot of money. You might want to go to Waupun's website for the chamber of commerce to see images of that wonderful statue.
