Clarification on Preachers Library

greenspun.com : LUSENET : barter board : One Thread

Afraid I might have scared some people off by mentioning retail value. I'm not selling this off as one block. I'd sell one book or one set of commentaries whatever works.. whatever you need.

Also have some choir music and books along with some Christian fiction. Heck I'd swap a book for a couple of chickens, a hammer, lumber or what have you.

Here is a partial list: I have the 23 volume "Pulpit Commentary" it's in CBD (Christian Book Distributors www.christianbooks.com) retailing at $349.99. Donald Barnhouses' four volume set on Romans.. very conservative. Matthew Poole's three volumes. Expositors.. I have only the New Testament. A few R.C.H. Lenski Matthew Henry's single volume on the entire Bible. Vincent's word study, Treasury of David by Spurgeon, it covers Psalms 3 volumes. Smith's Bible Dictionary John Walvoord's Prophecy Knowlege Handbook 9 various books by John MacArthur... Reckless Faith is an example. One Strong's Exhaustive Concordance.

Right now there are three and one half large bookcases of various sets and single books. (Over flowing)

I have Lockyer's 21 volume set of what I call "The Alls" i.e. All the Men, All the Women, All the Promises etc. of the Bible. THis is the hardcover, not the paperback.

Over the next few days I'm going to try to put together a complete list of everything. I have been collecting these books over the past ten years.. and like I said above, these are of top quality. I was ordained Southern Baptist but I had come out of a King James only environment. I spent a couple of years preaching in Maine and a couple places in New Hampshire, but as with all things the Lord has decided that He's not going to use me in that capacity any longer. It's time to move on.

Just for posterities sake... all the books have been sold. The Pulpit Commentary went to a youth Pastor in CA. and the balance went to a young man studying for the ministry.
