Why do you keep starting new threads advertising your newsletter? Why can't you simply post to your first posting - instead of always starting new ones?. I think you've started four or five new ones now... I'm beginning to think you're spamming this forum.

My apologies to you. Most people don't read postings that are days old much less a week old.I was just trying to find a few subscribers since it will be May before our ad starts running in the printed CountrySide Journal.
It was not my intention to offend anyone. Apologies all around. Thank you all, Nita

and too I don't know how to do what you suggested about continuing a thread. I'm new but I sure didn't want to offend anyone. But Spam? Me? I am sorry Gary!Nita

You didn't offend me, Nita. My apologies for my grumpyness. I get so much spam in my email inbox that I tend to be sensitive about it - I thought you were spamming the Countryside forum. Sorry for jumping to conclusions. As to your question on continuing a thread, that's what is happening now in this thread whenever you or I hit the "Contribute an answer" box (at the bottom of this screen) and post a reply.
New posts to a thread will cause it to remain active in the "New Answers" section. People who check the "New Answers" section will see that a thread is still active and they'll have the option of viewing (and perhaps contributing to) that thread if they wish.
I hope that all made sense. Again I'm sorry if I came across as a grump.

Thank you Gary for the instructions. You have been most helpful. I do know what you mean about spam mail in the inbox. I figure I get about 100 a day and it certainly does get old. About 1/4 of it is to my addy but the rest comes off those awful mailing "lists" that are sold to Internet wannabees. I won't do that to people. You are welcome to join us. Have a wonderful day. Nita

Nita, when you go to the 'home page' I guess of this list & look at the messages, at the top there are a few words highlighted. If you click on 'new answers' you will see a list of the messages in this forum in a different order - not from the newest message on down, but from the latest _replies_ on down. I think most of us use that option to check for new comments on old threads.See, now when I write this reply, this whole message with your ad will jump to the top again, for everyone to read again. :)

Thank you! I didn't even know it could do that. I must say that on my first visit to posting, where it asks for a Topic, it appears that I DON'T KNOW would be the default setting. If that were not a choice, people wouldn't allow it to remain. Just a thought.Nita

Thanks again for all the helpful info. I learn something new every visit.A special thanks to all of you readers who have subscribed to the newsletter. All are welcome. We are new and have a long way to go. Hopefully, we might even have a sponsor soon!
Thank you, Nita

Hats off to both Gary & Nita here. I think you both should be commended for the way you handled this between the two of you. The apology from Gary for "jumping to conclusion" and then offering his help to Nita to help her understand how to post the next time was very nice and friendly. It made up for his "grumpiness :o) I even learned a few things from this post myself (and I have been a member here since 2000!) See, we CAN be nice if we CHOOSE to be.So pat yourselves on the back and thank you for the info. Have a GREAT day all.
Oh, and Nita, the newsletter sounds wonderful. I will have to pop on over and subscribe. :o)
Blessings,
