I've seen very well brassed examples in Japan for as much as $7000.

But the Japanese are a bit into contemplating and appreciating wear and tear and the ravages of nature as a sort of art form.

in the UK a mint M4 chrome, boxed was priced at £1895 or $2653 USD equivalent. This was about 2 years ago. Whether it went for that I don't know. A Mint- M4 chrome, boxed was advertised at £1449 (or $2028 USD) last year at a dealer.
