Silver or red/silver: I can't decide.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

Hello. I'm on the verge* of getting a new MV, as the first was brutally murdered by a BMW X5.

My local dealer has an all silver bi-posto and a red/silver mono-posto coming in at the end of the month, and I can't decide which color I prefer. Yes, I now this is trivial.

I'm attracted to the "diamond" silver, as I've already had the red & silver before and it does appear more elegant although a bit dull. However, the traditional red & silver are more visually attractive but I'd like to try something different and the silver does come as a two seater (prices on both are the same for 2002). If only the blue & silver colors were available for 2002.

Has anyone ridden a 2002 MV? If so, are there any noticeable differences that the previous models? Thanks.

*Lastly, I am on the verge of getting another MV, although I have to confess that I am a little gun shy of riding again after the accident. My injuries haven't totally healed yet. Details of the accident can be seen here:

Ferraris are red. M-Benzs are silver. Rolls Royces are black. Jaguars are green. Shelbys are blue and white. MV's are Red and Silver.

Good luck with your recovery.

Not if I get to it first!

Seriously, I like the red better but the silver is far more rare. It's quite sleek and tasteful looking as well. I would probably have to think about it, then get the first one that comes in!

My bike isn't finished yet... Ugh.

Oops, guess I should have answered about the injuries first.

You'll probably be a little nervous in the beginning, but once you get back on and feel everything out, I think you'll find that you ride again the same as before. But maybe looking even harder for that oncoming accident waiting to happen. Crashing sucks.

Glad to hear about the draggin jeans. I'll look into them.

Hi Allan, its similar to the Ducati question, do you get an all red one or a yellow one to be different. I had a yellow Ducati so no surprise to learn I have an all silver MV and love the fact its different, but each to their own. best of luck Peter

Ladies and Gentlemen. Silver it is. I've signed the paper work this morning and my new 2002 Silver bi-posto (aka MV Agusta II: The Sequel) will be here on Monday. :)

I really do like Red and silver, but the Silver goes very nicely with the blue in the MV Agusta emblem. So, along with a new bike, I have the new colors of blue and silver.

Now if i could only get some sleep until Monday. :)
