Hi guysToday I installed my new scanner, after having so many complaits about the greyness of my pictures. I now have an acer scanwit 2740 and scanned the picture below without changing anything in brightness and contrast (=use default values). As the picture has a huge tonal range it is a good test picture.

Is this better compared to other pictures in my folders?
I also have to buy a new monitor, I tested it with dpreview's checkbar and found I have too much black and the monitor doesn't allow me to change it good. I asume it has had it's time (it's about 8 years old).

The new scanner is much better, Reinier. As to monitor calibration, if you have Photoshop, there is a utility that comes with the later versions that can be used for monitor calibration. It makes adjustments via software controls, so you might have better luck with it than making front-panel adjustments.
