Hi folks-

I am wondering if we can take a little poll here to see who makes what that they want to trade on an ongoing basis. Any crafters out there? Who has homemade jams and other yummies? What else do we homesteady type folk make?

My husband and I make Northwesty rustic crafts. Like wood trees on log bases (for sitting on a shelf, etc) and little log slice plaques with various sayings (like welcome, etc). My husband makes twig furniture (but that would be expensive to ship!). I make lots of little items for Christmas (angels, etc.) We don't make a whole lot. I am just getting the ball rolling because I want to know what YOU folks make!!

I do several varieties of homeade soaps ( including a new one : Fishermans catch. Its suppose to attract the fish according to my grandpa, got the recipe from my grannies cookbook.) and I sew, and quilt... and of course the Perfect Pork seasonings....

Well, I don't know if you would consider it homesteady, but I make several items (teddy bears, Easter bunnies, Christmas stockings and banners) that I sell to the Klingon community! :-) They're different, that's for sure, but it keeps me home with my girls! Check them out if you're curious:

My husband and I make several things to sell or trade including wooden pop-guns, crocheted: dish or bath cloths, bath puffs, Barbie doll clothes, basket liners, doilies, and Christmas tree ornaments.

Also I make homemade breads, cookies, and cakes.

Thats what I can think of right now! We homeschool and are always looking for books, craft supplies and new things to try.

I make baby blankets(both tied and crocheted), crocheted dish cloths, any theme or holiday wall hangings, placemats, goose clothes and romance bag/blanket.

I make all kind of wood toys and crafts. I have also sold country funiture. My wife makes quil-lows and quilts.We are going to start a shop soon . Soap making is next. We also will sell large brown eggs. Happy Future, jim

My husband makes reproduction Shaker furniture, birdhouses from old barn board,Civil War figures, model airplanes..I make comforters and quilts, and paint the birdhouses..jams, jellies (best jalapeno jelly East of the Mississippi), and chess sets.

I don't make things to sell as a business, but I do sell some things I make from my homespun. Shawls, hats, socks, fingerless mitts, lap blankets, sweaters, whatever takes my fancy. I do it to support my spinning habit.

I used to sell homemade dolls and toys as a buisness-everything from raggyanne type to pretty fancy "collector" type dolls. I do a lot of sewing and quilting-both hand quilting and machine quilting. I sometimes make reproduction clothing for theatres or re-inactment groups. I do a lot of crochet work, I'm learning knitting I'm interested in and have tried a lot of different types of needlework. I also make some really good wild blackberry jelly. My husband does a lot of woodworking-he barted custom bookcases for our computer and he's currently building a boat in the basement- which, considering we've had a lot of flooding latly is probably a good thing.

I am a little crazy when it comes to crafts. I am intrested in way too many for my own good! I started out sewing and ended up doing wedding and brides maids dresses. I made my husbands suit for our wedding and decided then and there that I would never make a suit for any man but him!!!, way to personal during the fitting process :)

Then I got into recycled crafts. Making anything from ornaments to furniture out of recyclables. That was fun, but it took too much room to keep everything.

Now I seem to be on a double bent in the craft dept. I am making reversable quilts, so much fun :) as well as baskets (my favorite). I do design alot of my baskets, and all of my quilts! I think the designing is a ton of fun. The baskets I have made include: quilt baskets (36" X 24" in a patriotic design) my biggest so far, hearth baskets, tote baskets, market baskets etc. I have sold, bartered, and given away(out of love) most of the things I have made. I surely love the looks on the faces of those people who receive a craft from my hand. I think it's one of the most rewarding feeling on this earth.

I make things from deer horn, pens lead pencils, pen stands for desk, whistles, key rings and tooth pick holders, and angle pedistals out of wood, and wooden bowls. I would like some information on how to make cork guns for kids. If you dont mind please email the info to me.
