On Barrabes.com I came across a "canyoning rope:" the Beal 9.5 mm Cilaos. This rope has a polyester sheath and polypropolene core. It's static and is designed to float, for rapelling canyons.

Someone told me that this kind of rope is only good for "wet" (waterfall) rappels and that just a few "dry" rappels would trash the rope because it wouldn't be able to tolerate heat as well as nylon. Can anyone comment on whether this is true or not? Thanks!

I don't have a rope answer I do have a question if any one can help I'm looking for fine ground polypropolene that will with stand heat and cold. Thanks for any help.
