I am trying to relocate a website that advertised a temporary kit home that could be erected in a couple of hours. It only required screwdrivers and socket wrenches to assemble and so could easily be disassembled also. It was pretty barebones but inexpensive and easy to construct. Actually a cabin in the 10' x 12' range. I think that the company was out of Michigan, but am not certain of this. John.

Priced high is right! Have you checked out the large sheds at Southerland lumber? If you don't want to keep the structure as a guest house, you could put up a 12' x 12' shed for very much less, and end up with essentially a small barn with a window and double doors for about $7000 less.

You can easily buy pre built and delivered sheds in my area for $1000 to $1500. It is a bare shell framed out of 2x4's, roofed with shingles and sided with masonite. I just found the ad in the paper, 10x20 is $1329 for a barn style roof and $1529 for a regular peaked roof. That price is delivered and set up within 50 miles. They will build up to 12x28 which are under $3000. They also offer 12mo. same as cash financing.

Many years ago in the old MENS magazine I remember a family living in a plastic type of greenhouse...all winter...and it was cold outside, They put in a wood stove too. The inside of my little plastic greenhouse gets very warm even in the winter !! Maybe this is something you could do and afterwards use your greenhouse for your garden plants and seeds. Out greenhouse took a day to put up and it wasn't hard for us either. I think it would be great !!! another idea...get an old trailer from a tractor and trailer truck and live in that for a temporary home. You can use that for storage of hay or household items afterwards too. Good Luck !!
