My wife and I have a small, but growing heard of dairy goats. We are wanting to go into the cheese business next year. In the mean time, we are looking for a small sized milk bulk tank. Say under 100 gallons. It must be in good condition. We are in east central Iowa. Would trade for alfalfa hay or pay cash.

Gosh milk tanks are hard to find in AR and MO, and if you do find them they are either too expesnive, over 880.00, have bad compressors and/or are shot. How far are you willing to travel? I know where there is one for sale in MO,near Springfield. I forgot gallons, are you looking for a 150 gal or larger. Dag, I can't find my bookmark for a company in either OK or iowa that sells reconditioned milking equipment and cheese too, like the pastruzers and vats. Its costly to do cheese when you have to pay over 8,000 in equipment, but then if the cheese is good it will sell. I'll keep looking for that bookmark. Good luck, i wish you well.

Keep sending out the inquiries on the boards and you'll come up with a tank. We bought two different 150 gallon tanks for $200.00 each. BUT, if you're going to sell to a buyer, be sure you get a calibration chart with your tank! If just for your own use, it's not that important.

Don't buy from resellers. The 150 gallon Mueller tank we bought for $200? Sheirer in Oklahoma quoted me $2,500 for the same tank. I offered to sell 'em mine!
