Why are globes always positioned with the north "up" and the south "down"? This practice discriminates against the peoples of the Southern Hemisphere. Think about it---how would you like to be the ones who are always on the bottom, the ones "down under"? Our self-esteem is damaged by this arbitrary juxtaposition. North and south are antipodes---opposite and equal, not superior and inferior.

What we demand is equality. Simple justice mandates that every 10 years all globes are re-oriented so that the south pole is on the "top". Every school would reverse the orientation of its globes at the same time. I suggest the vernal equinox.

We also demand reparations for the centuries of psychic damage done to our peoples.
