goat milk cheese

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I need help again! I know there are recipes for this in archives but I need step by step, have NO idea what I am doing directions. A gentleman my husband knows bought everything needed for making cheese and his wife refused to do it. He is willing to give it all to me including all the goats milk I need if I will just give him some cheese if it turns out. I am willing to try but need some help. Thanks.

Joanie, you sure lucked out. The book " Cheesemaking Made Easy" is pretty straightfoward and simple. The County Extension office might know someone in your area that could give you pointers. Good Luck. Robin

Check this site. It is unlikely you will have any unanswered questions when you are through. Lots of pictures!

And Joanie? Just breathe. :o> Get the stuff from the guy, look at Franken's website (it's great), make your cheese! If it doesn't turn out right, call it soft cheese & flavor it with herbs. No one will know the difference! Cheese works pretty well. Mozzarella works great and hard cheese are pretty nifty too. Check the archives too...
