I would like to know if they are comparisons between the Noctilux and Nikon Noct-Nikkor 58MM F/1.2 The Nikkor is also quite expensive. But the Nikkor do not have the same reputation and is not as known as the Noctilux. Can someone give me technical informations about these comparable lenses...Thanks....J-P Auger.

the noct nikkor is a legendary optic in its own right to be sure, and much coveted by nikonophiles. it may seem less of a cult object because, in fact, there are many fewer nikonophiles than leicaphiles, and those that there are seem to be always out looking for obscure rf gear; namely an original NK shade for the 21 f.4 that took them fifteen years to find. the noct 58mm also makes use of aspheric elements. it has always been a "lucky" lens for me, generating more than its fair share of portfolio images. it weighs a pound and has a length of about 2.5 inches. very compact. i love it. always seemed better balanced on an f2 or ft3 than the noctilux ever seemed on the end of an m. alas, it is almost a half stop slower than the n-lux.
