Hi John. I have 4 bronze ladies that the artist is a Le Verrier ( I was told, have not been able to confirm this). Le Verrier was a 1920's Bronze sculptor. the only think I have been able to find is a Max Le Verrier. Is this the same artist as for your piece? Also, if you have any further info about this artist, I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks. Kathy Berkeley

Hi John and Cathy, I have just inherited a small, cast bronze artdeco box by M. Le verrier. It is appx 7 inches by 5 inches by 1 inch (plus) with two angels and a saint on the front....done in a very "midevil" style. Any information you can give me regarding this artist would be appreciated. Thanks, Charles Bigger

I've got a "Pierot" figure, on a marble base, signed M.Le Verrier, which I bought at auction for c£100:00. It was sold as being a French 1920's Art Deco mascot from a motor car. Le Verrier translates as "The Glassmaker". I'd be equally intrigued to know if it is Max Le Verrier.

I have a bronze M. Le Verrier figure on a marble base of a monkey warming its outstretched paws. The "fire" is in a round can-like cannisterwhich holds a small light bulb. I think that this little sculpture is a night light. I bought it in a flea market in Tokyo for ¥12,000.

This web site may be of use - run by Le Verrier's grandson. The link is to the page detailing the monkey with the lantern.http://perso.club-internet.fr/mlv75/Badges2.html

Hi, whilst in Glasgow some months ago, I was struck by the beauty of a statue displayed in the window of Bonhams Auctioneers. I thought it marvelous: a muscular warrior perched atop a rock, ready to let fly the spear/javelin in his hand.Upon awakening the following morning, I walked back up to Bonhams, to see if the statue looked as good in the (literal) cold light of day. It did.
To cut a long story short, I ended up driving hundreds of miles some weeks later to successfully bid for the piece. It is signed "M. le Verrier" and continues to provide me with much pleasure.
