Snakes, buzzards, Calvin, Troy Bilt and [preachin]greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
While Mr buzzards were flyin around my place this afternoon, I was busy mowin. The old Troy Bilt B&S Twin was purrin along like ole calvin, grass clippins flyin around when I spied a "thing" in my driveway. It was a HUGE snake--teadin on my turf. Old Calvin was fritted a bunch and started runnin to the house. I kicked the TB in high gear and attempted to catch'm. He was just too quik for me. Made it to the roadditch by my mailbox. Now, I suppose he'll lay in wait tryin to scare me outta another years growth. Come to think of't--I could lose some weight!Went to town today and watched their annual May Day parade. A tradition for around 50 years or so. It is most comical to watch those little kindergarden and pre-school kids as they "march" along doin their thing! Kinda reminds me of bugs--not lookin where they're supposed to be goin, rasslin with each other etc etc. The people from surrounding towns all show up at this event. I guess everybody love little guys and gals.
I'm so tired from mowin methinks it's almost time to have a nappy time. Lil Dumplin will be home late tonite or noon tomorrow. A long drive from Cave City, KY to our home--about 4 hours. I gotta get the rest of the yard mowed afore she gets home. I can tell'r then just how busy I've been! I don't suppose she'll buy it --it's old news to'r now!
