Ok, this time I was armed with some Tmax 400 instead of the Tmax 3200.The results are noticably less grainy...

You captured a nice expression on the subject's face. I think the photo, being a close-up, would work better if she were positioned verticaly, or near verticaly. (In other words, turn the camera on its side.) As shown, it makes me want to turn my head sideways. Also T- Max, in this and many, many other photos I've seen, looks too gray, by which I mean that it seems to present lots of different tones all as light gray. In Delta 400 and in the late, lamented Verichrome Pan there seems to be a better and more brilliant tonal distribution. I have absolutely no scientific basis for saying this, it's just a subjective impression. Do others agree with this view of T-Max vs. Delta 400?? -Ollie http://www.web-graphics.com/steinerphoto

Hi, Charles:I think that this is one of those cases where size does matter: it is difficult to look at your photo in such a way as to make justice to it. I assume that the way you scanned the print renders this image size on screen but I wouldn't know how to do it different.
Any how: it seems to be a nice spontaneous image (I don't like the adjective "nice" when applied to photos; I refer to the subject's attitude) and a pleasant photo. It looks well exposed and sharp enough but the composition is hard to asses the way it is presented on screen. At first approach I think that it is somewhere midway between too close to mean something about the relationship between the subject and her surrounding environment and too far to exclude details that do not support the impact of the composition.
Now I'm afraid that you were not asking for comments about the graphical qualities of your photo but only about the comparison between the two films. If so, please forgive my above words.
In any case, thanks for sharing, Charles. I like to see your work.
Regards
Iván
