Hi friends,Been thinking, is it possible to fire off a SB24 Nikon Flash while using the M3/M4/IIIf ? Any special adaptors to include? And how does the mechanical M3/4 or IIIf manage to ignite of a Flash? really curious .. Thanks

Should be a way to adapt the Nikon hotshoe to fit a PC cord. Maybe anyway.

You can get a little "nipple" to convert the old flash plug to modern pc. Then spend a few bucks for a hotshoe to pc adapter- should be available at most good photo shops- this will convert any on-camera flash. I use a Metz in auto mode on my M3 this way.

Flash Bracket and PC cord...just like the ol' days..... Metz 40-MZ2 or Nikon SB-28 or Vivatar 283 with my M6, M4-P, M4 or M3. Good Luck.

Yes - I use an SB-27 on my M3 and M4. You'll need a plastic shoe adapter that has a OC synch cord - plastic to keep from shorting out the contacts on the flash. Fit that, slide in the flash, plug in the synch (you'll need another adapter to adapt the PC cord to the M3's plug - a readily available bit even today), set your camera for the synch speed and go.My experience started without the flash working - proved to be dirty contact surfaces in the camera body - I fiddled the cord around and it came to life, has worked well ever since. I suggest you try it without film in the camera first :)
