Must See TV

What are your "I must see this TV show, even if it means staying home when I could go out" shows? I love Gilmore Girls and The West Wing (and the TWoP recaps). Those are really my only two favorites. What do you recommend?

Well, I wouldn't skip going out for these, but I DO set my VCR: Alias, Buffy, Smallville, West Wing, and CSI. Those are the only things I watch, actually. Unless you count sporadic viewing of the 11 o'clock news. Seeing as they're in final-countdown-to-end-of-season with several plot lines coming to fruition you probably can't start watching Alias or Buffy at this point without being really confused, but you could watch the other three without any trouble I think.

I can't miss Six Feet Under...perish the thought. I try not to miss Buffy or the Amazing Race, but there are no suicide attempts if I do.

As you all probably know by now, I am a self-confessed television junkie. It is amazing that I have time to watch as much television as I do because we are always busy with something...the house, the pets, the wacky family, the even wackier friends, work, etc.

Anyway, I tape A LOT of shows but I always try to watch the following: 24, The Real World, The Osbournes, The Amazing Race, Survivor, CSI, Trading Spaces, and Insomniac with Dave Attell. The shows I tape are: Scrubs and the Thursday night NBC shows minus ER.

Word on Six Feet Under. However, with the NBA playoffs in full swing, sometimes I have to catch the Monday night rerun.

West Wing & ER too.

If you have kids (which I don't), might I recommend Harold and the Purple Crayon, which airs on HBO around noon on Saturdays.

I forgot about Alias and The Osbournes. I have my Visor alarm set to remind me about Alias. That plotline is so complicated I hate to miss an episode. I love The Osbournes! But I never watch the Tuesday night show. I always catch it when it's replayed later in the week. I watched 24 a few times but I couldn't really get into it. Used to watch ER and The Practice but now I hate both of them.

I got teary after the final Osbournes last night. Damn, that was one funny show.

I won't miss 6 Feet Under, Sopranos (when in season), and Friends.

Sundays it's HBO for me, whether it's Oz, The Sopranos, or Six Feet Under. And the America Undercover documentary is usually excellent. (Although Hookers at the Point 5? A disappointment.) I have also been watching the Band of Brothers reruns on Monday nights. Those shows, the Osbournes, and Survivor are my must-sees.

I don't have HBO...sob, sob, sob...the local cable bastards already rake us over for too much money a month...if we added HBO, our monthly cable bill would be upwards of $75/month.

Luckily, my parents have HBO so my stepmother, bless her heart, tapes the entire season of both "The Sopranos" and "Sex and the City" for me. Saving them up for summertime watching!

Then again, I still have almost the whole season of Scrubs and the Thursday NBC shows left to watch on tape...shit, I'm going to end up spending my summer getting caught up on my tapes.

The Real World; the Osbournes, The Gilmore Girls, Smallville, and Felicity.

Well . . .

I asked The Nonsmoker to tape the King of the Hill season finale for me. (He didn't. He called me drunk at 4:30 am instead. Still trying to figure that one out.)

And I'm going to the TWoP Amazing Race finale party on Wednesday.
