I can't say that I thought Spiderman was the Greatest Movie Of All Time...but it was pretty good. Did anybody else join in the mad rush to see it this last weekend?

Not this weekend, but last night.

I thought it was pretty good. Not the greatest movie of all time, but definately worth my $5.00!

I'm holding out for DVD viewing, and it's killing me.

I did finally see Ocean's Eleven last night, and it was practically porn for me. I get all floopy just watching Andy Garcia alone, but with George, Brad, and Matt? Lord, I thought I was going to overdose on dirty thoughts.

Five dollars?? Where are you that movies are five dollars? Please say it was a discount matinee, because evening movies here are $9.25. Ugh. Partly because of that, I'm planning to catch a matinee today or tomorrow. One of the few advantages of being unemployed: movies whenever you want.

We saw it for free at the theater that had showed a reel of Amelie out of order.

Loved it. Loved it, loved it. And I hate big movies.

My one complaint was that there wasn't enough Kirsten Dunst. To which the boy replied, "It wasn't called MARY JANE, now WAS IT?"

I really liked it too. I wasn't expecting much out of it, because come on, these kind of movies almost always disappoint, but I thought it was great.

And yes, Kirsten, I do believe that upside-down alley kiss WILL win "Best Kiss" at the 2003 MTV Movie Awards.

I also liked it, sort of to my surprise and almost against my will...that is, until sweet Tobey smiled at me with his googly eyes and his crooked geek smile. Then I got into it. And that said, I delurk.

Word.

I loved the movie. I think Tobey was completely personable as Peter Parker, and I just loved the comic-book style drama.

It did kind of bug me that you couldn't see their faces in uniform. The longer conversations between Spidey and the Green Goblin would have been just as effective on the radio. I don't know what they could have done about that, however.

"It did kind of bug me"

Hee hee, Fred, you're punny.

I saw it last night. I was a little leary like Hannahbeth but enjoyed it.

There was a nice balance between action and the slow parts. There was actually character development. I appreciated how the movie didn't try to make some cheesy quasi-scientific explanation for everything. And the parts where he goes swinging through the city were cool.

Re: previous post

I wasn't leary as in Dennis Leary but leery as in hesitant. Oy.

It was fun. A lot of fun and it had some character development too. Although all of Danny Elfman's soundtracks are beginning to sound the same.

Saw it Thursday and liked it a lot. I especially enjoyed the way they balanced the character development with the Spidey-action. This is the same thing that made the X-Men movie work well, IMO, a good balance between the people stuff and the action stuff. I was a bit unsure if I would like Tobey and Kirsten (not a big fan of either) in these roles but I think they both did a good job. And Willem was great as the Goblin!
