Hello, do I need any special tool from MV to remove rear wheel? or may be 55mm socket? THANKS

Answers

All you need to do is go by your local Sears store (assuming you're in the US) and get a 2 3/16 12-pt socket (I think the part # is 47791). It works perfectly. Also, don't forget that you'll need to use a torque wrench when putting the wheel nut back on.

So let me ask you this... I was at Sears last night looking over their 3/4 inch drive selection and I did see this socket. Now, where's the torque wrench? They don't make one... Wonder if I should just get a step down adapter to half inch and use my half inch drive wrench?

Actually, I just wanted to see a 3/4 inch drive torque wrench... Don't think I've ever seen one...

Just gotta get technical don't ya? Yes, you can use a step-down adapter.

I'm sure some company makes a 3/4 torque wrench, but can we afford it?

Firstly, using a step-down adaptor to 1/2 inch broke the drive off my torque wrench. Secondly,to get a torque wrench that goes up to the required 220-230 foot pounds is not cheap and would probably be for a truck. I bought a 2 foot long 1/2 inch drive bar and just tighten it up to PFT (Pretty F***ing Tight!)

Actually, it's 220-240 Newton Meters, not Foot Pounds. I bought a nice Craftsman torque wrench at Sears for about $80. It's rated for quite a bit higher than 240 NM, but I don't remember the exact amount. So far, I've taken my rear wheel off about 7 or 8 times with no problems at all.
