does anyone know of a respectable repair person in london to do a CLA for leica? how much do i have to calculate for a body or a lens? i heard a few bad stories about leica-uk. especially their turn-around time is reported to be too long.

Stefan, give Fieldgrass & Gale a call - they don't handle repairs as such through the shop but can put you in touch with their Leica engineer who did a fantastic job on my M4-P.

Well if I remember the exchange rate correctly (why didn't you guys go euro :-)) it is an very acceptable price, depending on the lens.

I recently posted a good CLA report on Peter Grisafi at CRB in Luton. Can be found at http://www.angelfire.com/biz/Leica/. Price was £140 and he did a lot of work. Has a long waiting list though.
